Diesel Technology - Drumright

Using guidelines provided by business, industry and labor, this program will provide a solid technical background in the areas of engine overhaul, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, power train, brakes, steering and air conditioning. Students will learn to inspect, diagnose and correct problems.

Career Majors in Diesel Technology


Career Major: Medium/Heavy Diesel Preventive Maintenance Technician

A preventive maintenance technician will be responsible for servicing and maintaining all makes and models of medium and heavy duty trucks.

Career Major: Medium/Heavy Diesel Truck Heavy Line Technician

A heavy line technician will be responsible for an entire piece of equipment as a whole. Most heavy line techs will be charged with major repairs that will include engine, drivetrain, electrical, and suspension work.

Career Major: Medium/Heavy Diesel Truck Engine Technician

A diesel engine technician will be expected to work on all makes and models of diesel engines. This will include major repairs and maintenance.

Career Major: Medium/Heavy Diesel Truck Service and Light Repair Technician

A light repair technician will be expected to work on all areas of a truck with the exception of major overhaul of power train components.

Earn college credit while attending Central Tech through our cooperative alliance agreement with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. College credit is awarded by appropriate higher education institutions through Articulation and/or Cooperative Alliance Agreements.
